Designed for financiers, policymakers, local impact brokers, and national and subnational governments in Cameroon, this tool clarifies adaptation funding flows and gaps and facilitates inclusive local adaptation by increasing transparency and knowledge on these funding flows.

The CBE programme aims to create a high-level research center in the scientific disciplines covered by environmental biogeosciences. The programme aims to strengthen the research ecosystem in these disciplines, increase the volume and quality of research projects and promote networking between researchers in Central Africa and internationally on the interrelations between changes in climate and land use.

Programme to support the economic, environmental and social resilience of populations in the Far North region of Cameroon (PROREC)

Programme brief:
The overall objective of the PROREC programme is to contribute to strengthening the economic and social resilience of the populations of the Far North region from Cameroon.
Specific objectives are to i) strengthen national, regional and local actors in their capacity to anticipate and respond to food crises and natural disasters; and ii) strengthen the capacities of agricultural groups, village savings and loan associations, and water management committees in their role as local economy development actors and the socio-economic integration of women and young rural people in three communes of the Diamaré departments and Mayo-Sava.

Support for Climate Resilience ‘PARCLI’

PARCLI targets several regions in Cameroon that are particularly vulnerable to climate impacts. While the specific document does not enumerate the exact areas, it generally focuses on regions facing significant climate risks and socio-economic challenges. The project aims to engage communities in both urban and rural settings, fostering climate resilience among marginalised groups in these regions. This includes integrating local knowledge and practices into climate adaptation strategies to ensure they are effective and sustainable.

Welcome to the Cameroon adaptation finance landscape tool!

This tool is designed to be a practical, user-friendly resource, enhancing the visibility of adaptation finance flows in Cameroon. It maps current and near-term local adaptation programmes and projects in Cameroon, as of end-2024, using publicly-accessible data.

This first iteration maps international public funding, laying the foundation for future layers and broader replication.

The tool follows a participatory and iterative approach. Built as a living resource, this tool will be updated over time and enriched with additional contributions. We invite collaborators to provide feedback and suggest adjustments and additions to the data.
