Timeline: 2020-2022 (readiness phase)
Budget: USD eq 220,500 (XAF 135,944,000)
Programme brief:
The programme aims to enhance the resilience of communities in Northern and Extreme Northern Cameroon through agroforestry practices. The initiative focuses on strengthening local capacities for climate change mitigation and adaptation, promoting sustainable agricultural practices that integrate tree planting with crop production. This approach not only improves food security but also helps restore degraded lands, thus addressing both environmental and socio-economic challenges faced by these regions.
Timeline: Jun 2021 – Dec 2026
Budget: USD 3,490,000 (actual allocation of funds currently unknown)
Programme brief:
PARCLI targets several regions in Cameroon that are particularly vulnerable to climate impacts. While the specific document does not enumerate the exact areas, it generally focuses on regions facing significant climate risks and socio-economic challenges. The project aims to engage communities in both urban and rural settings, fostering climate resilience among marginalised groups in these regions. This includes integrating local knowledge and practices into climate adaptation strategies to ensure they are effective and sustainable.
This tool is designed to be a practical, user-friendly resource, enhancing the visibility of adaptation finance flows in Cameroon. It maps current and near-term local adaptation programmes and projects in Cameroon, as of end-2024, using publicly-accessible data.
This first iteration maps international public funding, laying the foundation for future layers and broader replication.
The tool follows a participatory and iterative approach. Built as a living resource, this tool will be updated over time and enriched with additional contributions. We invite collaborators to provide feedback and suggest adjustments and additions to the data.
