Young people and women committed to change in the Septentrion (JEFECS)

Timeline: Feb 2022 – Jan 2025
Budget: EUR 400,000

Project brief:
The “Résilience des Femmes et des Jeunes dans le Septentrion” project, led by CARE and its partners, aims to strengthen the adaptive capacity of vulnerable populations, especially women and youth, in northern Cameroon. The project focuses on building local resilience to climate change and food insecurity by enhancing community-based adaptation strategies. CARE works with local civil society organisations and municipal partners to implement climate-smart practices, capacity building, and inclusive decision-making. The project includes the creation of 280 Village Savings and Loan Associations to improve food security, and offers educational and vocational opportunities to youth and women.

Welcome to the Cameroon climate adaptation finance mapping tool!

This tool is designed to be a practical, user-friendly resource, enhancing the visibility of adaptation finance flows in Cameroon. It maps current and near-term local adaptation programmes and projects in Cameroon, as of end-2024, using publicly-accessible data.

This first iteration maps international public funding, laying the foundation for future layers and broader replication.

The tool follows a participatory and iterative approach. Built as a living resource, this tool will be updated over time and enriched with additional contributions. We invite collaborators to provide feedback and suggest adjustments and additions to the data.
