Programme brief: The programme aims to enhance sustainable soil management through improved soil data collection and geoscientific databases. It supports the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Planning and Development (MINEPAT) and the Institut de Recherche Agricole pour le Développement (IRAD) in developing a central information system for assessing soil properties and quality across various regions in Cameroon. The programme’s objectives include gathering comprehensive soil data at provincial and municipal levels, which is crucial for effective land use planning and rural development strategies. This initiative falls under the priority area of “Rural Development” in German-Cameroonian cooperation.
