Cameroon adaptation finance landscape

Designed for financiers, policymakers, local impact brokers, and national and subnational governments in Cameroon, this tool clarifies adaptation finance flows and gaps and facilitates inclusive local adaptation by increasing transparency and knowledge on these finance flows.

Promotion of forests, environment and climate (ProFE)- Forest and environment component support project

Project brief:
Contribution of the component: the introduction of sustainable management systems for the sustainable use and development of forest resources and biodiversity

  • Development of planning instruments for FLR (Forest Landscapes Restoration) and management of the project fund for financial support of FLR measures
  • Advice on integrating FLR measures into spatial and municipal development planning
  • Support the management of community and communal forests
  • Support for state, municipal and private measures of afforestation and agroforestry
  • Development of value chains for wood energy and non-wood forest products
  • Project fund management for the financial support of actors in the value chain
  • Modernization of the wood-energy value chain in the North and Far North and East regions
  • Carbonization of sawmill waste in the eastern region and its marketing

Welcome to the Cameroon climate adaptation finance mapping tool!

This tool is designed to be a practical, user-friendly resource, enhancing the visibility of adaptation finance flows in Cameroon. It maps current and near-term local adaptation programmes and projects in Cameroon, as of end-2024, using publicly-accessible data.

This first iteration maps international public funding, laying the foundation for future layers and broader replication.

The tool follows a participatory and iterative approach. Built as a living resource, this tool will be updated over time and enriched with additional contributions. We invite collaborators to provide feedback and suggest adjustments and additions to the data.
