COVID-19 has exacerbated inequalities in cities including in the mobility sector where urgent and immediate changes, such as reducing occupancy rates in public transport were required to ensure people moved safely and healthily without increasing the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Lessons continue to be learned on how to make shifts in response to COVID-19 thereby how to build back better by making mobility systems more resilient and responsive to crises. These include how to expand safe, equitable and affordable access to low carbon mobility through partnerships to access finance and build back better.
